    Reporting to the Head of Research, Education, and Outreach (REO), the Research Services Librarian supports the research, professional writing, and educational activities of the health sciences campus at Temple University. Working as part of a team, they provide a range of search services in support of systematic reviews, institutional animal care, and faculty credentialing. Participates in the development of the health sciences libraries professional writing support service. Serves as a liaison to a health sciences program. Provides online and in-person instruction for the liaison area and for the library’s elective workshop series. Meets requirements for contract renewals, promotion, and regular appointment. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Education and Experience:
    ALA-accredited Master’s degree in library/information science and experience providing reference services in a college, university, or hospital library. Experience teaching or giving presentations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Required Skills and Abilities:
    *Knowledge of health and life sciences databases, such as MEDLINE, Web of Science, and/or Embase.
    *Familiarity with the research process in the health and life sciences.
    *Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collegially in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
    *Excellent project management skills.
    *Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    Preferred:
    *Demonstrated expert searcher skills, such as those performed in support of systematic or other review types.
    *Familiarity with editing and writing and publications in the health sciences.
