Under the direction of the Dean of Libraries, the Resource Services Manager oversees staff and operations for cataloging, acquisitions, e-resource management, preservation, systems, and collection development; aids in the development and implementation of workflows and operational assignments; works collaboratively with and in support of faculty librarians’ expertise in cataloging, collection strategy, and electronic resources; functions as an advisor to Library Administration in strategic planning, technology development and enhancement of University Libraries Resource Services; and is responsible for statistical and budget reporting.
The Resource Services Manager maintains current knowledge of University policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and online administrative tools.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and decision-making skills; a commitment to inclusivity; customer service orientation; supervisory experience; and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
Managing operations for cataloging, acquisitions, e-resource management, preservation, systems, and collection development.
Working collaboratively with librarians and staff to develop best practices in Alma, EDS, and other systems.
In collaboration with librarians and other managers, developing, recommending, and administering policies, procedures, and processes in support of Resource Services operations including cataloging, acquisitions, e-resources, preservation, systems, and collection management.
Managing schedules, evaluations, hiring and overall direction of assigned AFSCME staff
Working closely with library faculty to collect, manage, and disseminate data relating to resource management.
Overseeing the development and implementation of training and documentation for library resource services technology and practices
Coordinating communication and priorities in resource services tasks performed across library units.
Serving as technology resource to assist others in unit by identifying opportunities to improve services, practices, workflow, and policies through library software.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Demonstrated experience with library management systems
Demonstrated library technical services experience
Staff supervision experience
Preferred Qualifications
ALA Accredited Master’s Degree or equivalent.
Alma Administration Certification
Demonstrated experience Alma and EDS library management systems
Project management experience

The salary range for this position is $76, 229 to $87,119.
