    Hagley Museum and Library Archival Collections Department Part-Time Processing Project Archivist The Project To process the Pierre Samuel “Pete” du Pont papers, approximately 50 linear feet, and digitize a modest portion of the collection upon completion of processing.

    Duties Include: Review materials for possible preservation attention Re-boxing, re-foldering, and labeling archival materials Process, arrange and describe materials Author EAD and DACS compliant findings aid(s) using ArchivesSpace Recommend selections from the collection for digitization, and digitize at least 1,000 pages of content Create metadata records for digital surrogates using MODS metadata schema, and ingest content into Hagley’s Digital Archives (Islandora) The Project Archivist will be responsible for the preservation, arrangement, and description of an archival collection under the supervision of the Head Archivist in the Archives Department. The Project Archivist will work under the supervisor of the Digitization and Metadata Coordinator during the digitization portion of the project.

    Preferred Qualifications: Education and/or related experience in any of the following: Library and Information Science, Public History, or Museum Studies. Experience processing historic materials. Familiarity with MODS and basics of archival digitization best practices. Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.

    Terms: The term of service is 840 hours total, at 17.5 hours per week. The compensation set for this position starts at an hourly rate of $20. The application deadline for this posting is October 31.
