Permanent Part-time Library Stacks Technician – Newtown PA

This permanent part-time position reports directly to the Director, Libraries. The position is responsible for the maintenance of the library stacks and physical spaces, including over 100,000 volumes organized in the Dewey Decimal Classification. This position is responsible for shelving, shifting, and shelf-reading to maintain correct call number sequencing and the physical condition of materials; locating missing materials; repairing of damaged books and materials for all the three campus libraries; training and overseeing student workers and volunteers; creating library display cases; coordinating the Books Across Bucks program; and the covering/processing of soft cover and hard cover books for all campus locations.

This position, as part of a team, also provides public service at the Library Services Desk. This position circulates books, laptops, and other equipment/materials using the SirsiDynix Symphony Integrated Library System; updates student records, removes blocks from student records, collects fines, issues holds, creates photo ID cards, creates nursing photo ID badges, answers directional questions, monitors student activity, troubleshoots student computer problems, and provides technology assistance; keeps copiers, printers, and microfilm machines performing; tracks and coordinates regular paper delivery to college computer labs.

Position is 25 hours per week and eligible for pro-rated benefits. Work hours: 7:30am-12:30pm Monday-Friday
