Job: Children’s Librarian at Malvern Public Library

The Malvern Public Library is seeking a professional, friendly, and tech-savvy individual who works well with children and young adults to join our team. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and the ability to create a warm, welcoming, and professional atmosphere with the public and staff.

Candidates should be enthusiastic to share and foster the joy of reading to children. They should be creative, a self-starter, flexible, motivated, and reliable. This position will create, manage, and run all children and young adult programming and collection development.

Programming includes story times, summer reading, and special one-time events.
Processing of incoming materials into the system-wide database and made ready for
circulation is also required. Other duties include fulfilling the Library Director’s
responsibilities in the Library Director’s absence.

Candidates must be physically able to handle, lift and move library materials up to 25lbs and to stand, sit, stoop, walk, and reach within a confined area.
This position is 37.5 hours per week, including occasional evenings and Saturdays. The
starting salary is $33,000 and commensurate with experience. Health insurance and
