Job Description
Provide in-person and online reference and circulation assistance at the Library Service Desk
Support the development and use of library information technologies including: integrated library system, cataloging, library website and e-resources.
Help promote and evaluate the use of books, e-books, article and reference databases, media and other resources.
Help develop online tutorials and assessment tools; participate in other information literacy initiatives as needed.
Contribute to library marketing and outreach efforts.
Help make the library a comfortable and inviting environment for teaching and learning.
Participate and assist with special projects as needed.
Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources.
Other responsibilities as assigned by Library Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree (ALA accredited preferred) in Library Science required
Experience working as a librarian in an academic library preferred
Teaching/instructional experience preferred
Knowledgeable about multiple library functions
Strong commitment to customer service
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with information technology and computing applications
Evening and weekend hours available
Special Instructions for Applicants
HOURS: Minimum of 2 nights per week: 4pm-8:30pm and alternating Saturdays 10:00am-4:00pm. Hours subject to change.
Published Salary Range $28 per hour
